According to those who believe in a flat Earth, the edge of the Earth is believed to be surrounded by a massive ice wall. This ice wall is said to be what prevents the oceans from spilling over the edge of the Earth. Some flat Earth theories suggest that beyond this ice wall lies unknown territories or even other worlds, but these claims are not supported by scientific evidence. **

The name "Earth" is derived from the Old English word "eorthe" and the Anglo-Saxon word "erda," both of which mean ground or soil. The name reflects the planet's solid surface and connection to the land. It distinguishes Earth from the other celestial bodies in our solar system and emphasizes its role as a home for diverse forms of life. **

According to the flat Earth theory, beyond the ice edge lies an unknown expanse of land or possibly more oceans. Some flat Earth believers suggest that there could be other undiscovered continents or civilizations beyond the ice wall. However, since the flat Earth theory lacks scientific evidence and consensus, what lies beyond the ice edge remains purely speculative and not supported by mainstream science. **

If the earth were flat, excess water would not flow down the edge because there would be no edge for the water to flow over. In a flat earth model, water would simply continue to spread out horizontally until it encountered an obstruction or boundary. The concept of excess water flowing down the edge is based on the assumption of a curved earth with gravity pulling water towards the center. Therefore, in a flat earth model, there would be no edge for excess water to flow down. **

The Earth is often referred to as Mother Earth because it is seen as a nurturing and life-giving entity. Just like a mother provides for her children, the Earth provides us with the resources necessary for life, such as water, food, and shelter. The Earth also has the ability to heal and regenerate itself, much like a mother's nurturing and healing nature. This term is also used to emphasize the interconnectedness and interdependence of all living things on the planet, much like the relationship between a mother and her children. **

Geography typically focuses on the study of the Earth's physical features, climate, and human populations, while earth science encompasses a broader range of topics including geology, meteorology, oceanography, and astronomy. Advanced geography courses may delve deeper into human-environment interactions, spatial analysis, and geographic information systems, while advanced earth science courses may focus more on the Earth's structure, processes, and natural phenomena. Overall, geography tends to have a more human-centered approach, while earth science is more focused on the physical aspects of the Earth and its natural systems. **

Flat-earthers believe that the edge of the flat earth is surrounded by a massive ice wall, which they refer to as Antarctica. They believe that this ice wall acts as a barrier, preventing people from falling off the edge of the earth. Some flat-earthers also believe that there may be other undiscovered lands beyond the ice wall, but these claims are not supported by any scientific evidence. Overall, flat-earthers view the edge of the earth as a mysterious and unexplored region that is hidden from the general public. **
